Hot Import Nights: Chicago

Those of us fortunate enough to live in Southern California enjoy sunny days and clear skies almost year round. Hell, we can drop the top on our convertibles and hit the beach on Christmas Day. But what about the rest of the country? Most freeze their butts off during winter in -20 degree Fahrenheit weather and have to drive a piece-of-shit car to avoid getting their REAL rides covered in road salt.

Chicago is certainly no exception. This town is one place you may not want to be-especially us 'weak' Angelenos-when Old Man Winter unleashes his fury. But when the weather warms and phat rides hit Lakeshore Drive once again, it's obvious something special is about to happen. That something special arrived in downtown Chicago, and was hotter than the City's famous Polish hot dogs. Vision Entertainment delivered yet another powerful import spectacle as McCormick Place opened its doors to another rendition of Hot Import Nights. Spectators filled the exhibit hall to its capacity by 8 p.m., even as others stood waiting outside just to get in. Like a Chicago stuffed pizza, this place was filled to the limits.

Phat rides 'grown' locally and from out of town, as far as St. Louis and the East Coast states, made their presence known with gleaming paintjobs and tricked-out motors. Manufacturers made their splash with huge displays. Ladies got their groove on, flaunting their curves on the exhibit floor and shaking their thang on stage. If you missed this shit, then you must be regretting it by now.
