Toyo Tires' Hot Import Nights: Long Beach, California

"I ride wit the... I slide wit the... Loccs and doggs from the LBC" Does that tune ring a bell? Well, if you're old school like me, you would recall the artist, The Dub Shack, and the song, "Summertime in the LBC." It was just one of many songs in 1995 that put LBC on the map. Ah, the memories.

On May 24th, 2003, Long Beach was once again recognized, but this time as the Mecca for import tuners, as scores of cars and enthusiasts gathered for the long awaited ToyoTires Hot Import Nights presented by Valvoline SynPower. As expected, the line to enter the Long Beach Convention Center began early in the day, wrapping completely around the building and into the parking lot. 2NR was able to pull a patron aside long enough to ask how long he was waiting in line. He replied, "Shit man! I've been waiting since 2p.m., just so I can beat the crowds to get to the models for some autographs!" A die-hard enthusiast indeed--or psycho, call it what you want--but HIN has established itself as "the show" to attend in the import scene.
