Who Says We Can't Rock?
World Race Events announced its involvement in the import arena, with an event for the ages. For those of you who are not familiar with World Race Events, it is responsible for putting together one of the largest and most successful Ford drag race events in history-the Mobil 1 World Ford Challenge.
Now, it plans to bring the same to the import market. With Import Tuner, Turbo and Sport Compact Car magazines signing on as presenting sponsors, it is clear that this event will be known as the largest, most competitive and richest of its kind.
On June 8-10, 2001, the first Mobil 1 World Import Challenge Drag and Show event will take place. This "Superbowl" of import events will be held at the awesome Houston Raceway Park.
This event will feature 10 Heads-Up classes and three Bracket classes, with racers competing for a guaranteed purse of more than $100,000 in cash, plus contingencies in three days of racing, making the WIC1 the richest payday in import performance history.
The Mobil 1 World Import Challenge not only features a great racing program, but will also feature the 2001 Auto Show Spectacular.
The Auto Show Spectacular will include more than 70 classes, which will be judged professionally on a 100-point judging system, providing fans and participants with the ultimate show car experience.
Manufacturers Midway will contain more than 100 of the top import aftermarket manufacturers. The companies will display and sell the latest in import performance parts.

To Drive AEM Drag Civic in 2001AEM has announced the renewal of its sponsorship of Stephan Papadakis, driver of the world's quickest and fastest front-drive Honda drag car. Papadakis made history again on May 14, 2000 when he became the first-ever to pilot a front-drive drag car into the 8s.
"The AEM Drag Civic is an innovative racecar that has been on the cutting edge of technology. Combine that with Stephan being a very talented driver and you have a winning combination," commented AEM's Kirk Miller. "Stephan is driving a vehicle that is designed and engineered to perform, and we know that he will continually work to maintain optimum performance both on and off the track in the year to come."
"I am proud to be representing AEM once again," Papadakis said. "I have received unending support in each new endeavor that I embark upon, and I am sure that I will have continued success. With AEM behind me, I can focus on what I do best, and that's drive!"
