Shoreline Drive in Long Beach, Calif., hugs the Pacific Ocean and is the centerpiece of the annual CART Long Beach Grand Prix. Turbo-powered Champ cars, putting 800 or more ponies to the ground and lighting up this street every spring, draw thousands of spectators and millions of TV viewers worldwide. It's a dope-ass event any auto enthusiast can appreciate.
So what event could possibly follow in the footsteps of this spectacle of horsepower, adrenaline and hot pit babes? Funny you should ask. Vision Entertainment probably had the same thoughts in mind when it decided to return Hot Import Nights to the Long Beach Convention Center on May 26. Just like the racing action that occurred a few months before, this edition of HIN excited, dazzled and thrilled all that came to participate.
You want to check out the phattest cars? You got it. There were so many rides that captured our eyes we couldn't decide where to begin. As a matter of fact, 2NR walked away from the Long Beach event with several potential cover cars and feature cars in mind. So don't change that bat channel and stay tuned for all the good 411.
You want to meet the hottest models in the import scene? It's a done deal. At the McMullenArgus booth, Natasha Yi and Cherie Roberts, two of 2NR's cover models, graciously signed posters for the mob that surrounded the booth. They also found time to pose for a few snapshots (thanks, ladies). We also noticed a number of new faces at HIN. You can bet that 2NR will deliver the scoop on these ladies in future issues.
As the evening drew to a close, we headed home and did so with big stupid grins on our faces. We were in automotive heaven all night. The eye candy certainly didn't hurt matters either. It's events like this that makes our work seem, well, less like work and more like pure fun. Mad props to the Vision crew for putting on a great event. We can't wait for the next Hot Import Nights, scheduled to go down in Chicago. See you all there.
