2011 Eibach Honda Meet Turbo

Want a sneak peek at what the newest trends in the U.S. import auto scene will be? Go to a track day in Japan, VW meet in Europe, lowrider show in East L.A, Honda gathering in SoCal. With www.NWP4life.com’s annual Eibach Honda meet drawing 450 featured cars (three times as many were in the surrounding lots) and 15K spectators, it’s probably the best example. After all, it’s where we first saw the movement evolve from gaudy body kits and custom audio enclosures to stock body lines and gutted interiors, to accessory racks and flush-fitting wheels, to ultraclean paint with dipped/plated/polished hardware. Have a look at this year’s forecast:

The crazy engine bay trend will evolve to insane levels.

  • Downstar Frank’s two-tone B-series EG Civic bay, infused with Bolt Boys. Blacked-out engine treatment: clean. Hex-head bolts and washers: sweet. Spikes: not a fan.

  • Skunk2-affiliated EK, flexing adapted Toda ITBs, a Bisimoto header, and plenty of single-cam pride. Not too sure about that anime graff, though . . .

New(ish) models will still have a place . . .

  • As evidenced by this Tjin Edition Fit . . .
  • . . . And this murdered-out Insight. Strangely, we like the raw barrel treatment.

Thankfully, performance isn’t going anywhere:

  • Project Import’s time-attack S2K
  • N1 Concepts’ challenger, powered by a 3.2TL Type-S V-6 for better torque and weight distribution.

  • The infamous J’s Racing DC2, disassembled, reassembled, and shipped across the Pacific yet again for your viewing pleasure:

  • . . . And some Outlaw K-series street/drag action.

But could the flat green treatment be the next big thing? [Editor’s note: only Luke hopes so] Look at all these biters!
