1998 Honda Prelude - Cobalt Koncept

Sometimes Some Things Really Are Bigger And Better In Texas

Is this Prey all show and no go? Naw. Shreedhar knew he would be getting revved at while rolling his beauty around. When you pop the hood, a bright gleam emits from the chromed-out engine bay and custom polished intake manifold, but once your eyes adjust you'll notice an Ice Man cold-air system, Unorthodox racing pulley kit and a 100-hp shot of juice. What will slip your eye are the Prelude Type-S camshafts that replaced the feeble factory bumpsticks. To evacuate all spent gases Shreedhar employed a GReddy Power Extreme exhaust system, which also gives the Prelude its intimidating tone. Hyper Racing in Houston performed all of the engine mods, as well as the tuning.

Not all the roads are straight in Texas, meaning you better have some stiff stuff putting your power to the ground. Sprint lowering springs have been paired with KYB AGX shocks to give a lowered stance and firm ride. To keep the chassis rigid, Spoon Sports front and rear tower bars have been installed, and to make sure braking was sufficient and o avoid any chance of hitting stray farm animals Shreedhar ditched his OEM brakes in favor of the AEM Big Brake Kit and Goodridge stainless-steel braided brake lines. The stock 16-in. rollers would look rather tiny when paired with a widebody kit, so Rudy and Zack of Uptown Tire and Wheel provided some massive 19-in. HRE 540 Series rims wrapped with Nitto 555R rubber.

Preludes from 1997 and later sport a pretty bland interior, so to spice it up a bit Shreedhar had his stock seats reupholstered with black and white Katzkin leather. An aluminum dash kit and custom diamond hex floor mats were also installed to complete the show-like appearance. The factory sound system was the last thing to be removed in favor of an Alpine CDA-7875 head unit, Boston Acoustics mids and two Phoenix Gold Amps pumping Alpine Type-S subwoofers. 'Cause your shit's gotta bump. For his viewing pleasure MA Audio T.V. screens have been mounted to the dash, the back of the headrests and the rear view.

Now that Shreedhar has been exposed you can bet to see him and his crew competing at many more car shows near you. So don't think that because you live on either coast that you are ahead in anyway. This Prelude may roll up next to you, school you, and look damn good while doing it. Props to the folks in the Midwest for their constant growth in the industry while having a smaller chunk of the spotlight.
