2NR: What are the most popular engines that you bring in?RW: Mostly the Honda stuff-B16, B18 and B20 variations; all of the stuff that the Honda guys want. But we'll bring in anything that a customer orders, like the three-rotor Mazda 20B. Someone even ordered a new Subaru GDB (Impreza STI) for conversion.
2NR: As far as parts go, do you bring in only used parts or do you also stock new OEM parts from Japan?RW: Lately we've been stocking a lot of JDM parts for the new Honda Integra (RSX). Like headlights, interior center consoles, shifters, etc., and we also have a lot of OEM Toyota of Japan parts. But we'll take any special order from any customer.
2NR: What items sell the most or are asked for by the customers?RW: It really depends. Sometimes it's the Type R parts, anything Type R, and sometimes it's the Skyline parts.
2NR: Tell us about your right-hand drive CRX.RW: It's the car I've always wanted, ever since I was in high school back in '89. It's black, ZC-powered, and it has real old school Mugen parts on it: the aero kit with the wing, 15-in. MR5 wheels, complete Mugen suspension, super old-school Mugen steering wheel. There are no new-era Mugen parts on it-everything is original stuff from "way back when." I also have some other parts I haven't put on yet, like the Mugen teardrop muffler that I told you about earlier, the Mugen bumper lenses, the rear bumper screen, and some other parts. And don't laugh, but the car is automatic!
2NR: I'm not laughing-I know that you got an automatic because you wanted the "super one-arm gangsta lean" while you're throwing up "AeroDuo" hand signs at all the shows and stuff.RW: No, I'm not about that big pimpin' stuff. I just do what I like.
2NR: Well, when you're flossin' a CRX with the O.G. glass roof, electronic climate control, and rear seat, it sounds pretty much like pimpin' to me. OK, last question; about the JDM look and JDM conversions and swaps-is it just a fad or is it the wave of the future?RW: Well, for me, I'll always want rare or different parts on my car. It's the way that I do things, but maybe it's not for everyone. Sure, it costs a lot of money to find and import these things, but it's all about the love of being different and original in your own way. If you have that, the money doesn't seem like such a big deal.
2NR: Anything else you want to mention or bring up?RW: For all you JDM fans, the website is coming soon-just keep checking back. And, by the way, Arnold, can you please put back that Type R interior you threw in your car while I was in the bathroom?
2NR: Damn.
