More JDM Parts Than You Ever Imagined!

Jdm Buyers Guide Jdm Honda Civic Headlights

The JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) continually strongholds the automotive market as import enthusiasts pay top dollar for rare one-off products that many of us on the mainland have never seen before or even heard of. The JDM gray market is always of interest to consumers as the smaller shops in Japan continue to produce these products that are in limited supply. Ukiya Shokai? That sounds like an anime movie, but in actuality it's a company that specializes in exhausts, mainly the AE86. Deciding what products filled the palettes of the true JDM enthusiasts was difficult indeed. If I were to cover the whole JDM lineup I would need a one year hiatus in Japan-you think I'm fucking nuts? Now lets have a quick lesson on the S13, S14 and S15 before we go on to the pictures. In the U.S., if we had to label the cars in comparison to Japan, we would call the 1989-1990 240s Zenki and 1991-1994 Kouki. I will not get into Chuki but anyone interested in learning more about it can browse the web. The 180SX is the hatchback version while the Silvia is the coupe version. Sileighty's are comprised of a 180SX body and a Silvia front end. The models J, Q, K which represent the Jack, King, and Queen models follow suit as the Jack being the lowest, Queen being second and King being the only turbo model. RPS13 is a hatch with an SR20DET, and the PS13 is a Silvia with an SR20DET. PHEW! Remember, we rummaged through shops all over to find the trickest shit available, so that explains the photo quality. Dig? Since that's all said and done, enjoy!

Spoon has proven themselves in racing and quality products. The Spoon steering wheel has been in strong demand since its early release.

Spoon power brake cylinder and master cylinder covers are useful when taking the car out on the tracks. The overspill from the constant braking pressures causes the fluids to leak from the reservoir. These fireproof um, wristbands, will prevent the fluids from eating up your paint.

Stainless steel DC2 (Integra for you fakers) cat back exhaust systems. Just be sure to warn anyone who drives behind you to wear sunglasses!

Hamp oil filters are Hondas aftermarket lineup of products and were specifically designed for use in the Type-R and Type-S cars. Otherwise known as Hamp Synergy, these filters are considered a step up from the OEM Honda products.

Spoon strut bars... enough said!

A popular add-on piece for the Honda camp is the 1996-1998 Civic Type-R front lip kit. With a couple screws and double-sided tape, these lip kits dramatically improve the Civic's looks.

Advan Neova's are the tire choice for drifters and D1 drivers in Japan. Although the Neova's are not DOT approved, many people use these tires at sanctioned drift events with positive results.

Headlights are a big commodity in the this market. With rules and regulations in the U.S. on reflectors and other crap, Japan seems to keep all the good stuff for themselves. The 2003 Civic headlights are a big improvement over the U.S.-spec version.

Badges, badges and more badges. The number of replacement badges are endless.

Cracked valve covers from those junkyard motors? Go for the JDM look and pick up a few brownie points at shows-if that's your cookie-with some JDM valve covers and even a JDM oil cap.

These 1999-2000 Civic headlights come factory clear and have a smoked backing. Looking pretty good!

Civic owners have an opportunity to complete the Type-R changeover with this center console complete with badge and carbon-fiber material.

Integra Type-R smoked headlight. If you don't know, now you know!

JDM down to the spare tire you say? That's right! The RSX 17-inch spare tire is a necessity for the true JDM enthusiast.

Integra Type-R and Prelude door sills for that finishing touch on your car.

Side markers are nothing new for Hondas in Japan. It's interesting that only the cars overseas sport these products as a factory unit. Pictured above are for the DC2, DC5 and AP1 (S2000).
