One look at Mayo's Eclipse and it's obvious the GS-T doesn't resemble anything Mitsubishi ever assembled. The unique look was achieved through a series of select custom choices. The Eclipse was brought to Rob's Autobody of Orlando for a complete makeover. A Sensei front bumper, VIS Battle Z Type 2 side skirts, and a VIS Kombat rear bumper found their way around the car. An S15 Silvia headlight system was custom grafted on to the Mitsubishi, and then MR-2 side vents and a Kaminari KT-R spoiler were installed. Custom carbon-fiber canards, side, and rear trim were installed along with a front splitter courtesy of Racing Zone Auto House of Orlando. After all the body pieces were installed the whole car was bathed in Bahama Blue Pearl. Underneath all the sheet metal, a full set of Volk Racing GT-7 wheels accent the body pieces. The gunmetal GT-7's are sized 18x8 all around and are skinned with Toyo Proxes T1-S tires, 235/40/18 all around.
A complete show car has to have a beautiful inner spirit. Short of making his car give out donations and visit charities, Mayo beautified the inside of his Eclipse with a full custom interior job from Exotic Rides of Orlando. The interior was given a spray down with silver vinyl paint, and pieces were painted Bahama Blue Pearl to match the exterior of the car. Blue Recaro SRD limited-edition seats were installed, along with GReddy three-point harnesses, and the back seats were re-upholstered to match the special Recaro skins. A MOMO Silver Jet steering wheel and Napolex shift knob give a better grip on the car's controls while A'PEXi E.L. Series indiglo boost and EGT gauges give a better indication of the car's health. The in-car entertainment was given a new shot of life with a Panasonic head unit, a 5.25-in LCD monitor mounted in the passenger sun visor, and a pair of Alpine component speakers. A custom fiberglass enclosure was made for the car and houses a Playstation 2, a 7-in LCD screen, Earthquake amplifier, and two 10-in Memphis subwoofers. Naturally, the entire enclosure is easily removed before running at the track. The final layer on this cake is a full set of Streetglow neon accents, strobes and under-car neons.
Building an all-conquering car is more than just having good looks alone. Just ask any aspiring model or actress; it takes the whole package. Mayo wasn't about to let his car turn into a noodle-limp carpet queen when the roads started to curve. No cheap, cut, stock springs and air-bagged shocks here; Mayo went to Racing Zone Auto House to get the full treatment done. Suspending all four corners of the car is a set of Tanabe Sustec Pro coil-over dampers, easily offering adjustable ride height and damping characteristics. Stiffening the chassis up front is an OBX strut bar and a Neuspeed tie bar, and in the rear is an OBX upper strut bar and a Tanabe lower tie bar. Helping bring the car to a screaming halt is an AEM big brake upgrade up front, and AEM big brake rotors in the rear with Axxis brake pads all around.
So "2 Fast 2 Julius" has already built up a show-winning car, drives it regularly, and has a movie appearance to his credit. But when your car lays down a healthy 284hp without nitrous, can get you everywhere you need to be and still looks this good, you're never going to finish building it up. It'll never be 2 Fast and that's 2 Serious.
