Detroit's Dynamic Duo

When hell finally does freeze over, one thing is for sure: Detroit's winter travel industry will all but disappear because Hell's hotel rooms are cheaper and have better views. However, the city's annual auto show will continue to draw thousands of journalists, hundreds of thousands of locals and a handful of well-equipped show models because of concepts like these bad boys we saw at the January icefest 'n human traffic jam.

First up is the new Mitsubishi concept coupe that predicts what the next Eclipse will look like. The Eclipse Concept-E is based on the Project America platform that already hosts the Galant and the Endeavor and the occasional Oktoberfest. Mitsu promises the concept delivers "pure driving pleasure, with levels of dynamic handling and exhilarating performance rivaling those found in the motorsport arena." We promise we'll get you pictures as soon as we see the real thing.

The other big tuner platform at the Detroit came from Scion, Toyota's youth brand. (Youth as in high school, not Playskool.) Toyota unleashed its Scion tC sports coupe at Detroit show, with a plan to begin selling them this June. This ass shot is all Toyota had before we left for Detroit, even though we begged them for both a full tC photo and a reprieve on our Greyhound ticket to Motown. You can see where that got us--excuse us for not being USA Frickin' Today!
