800HP Shark Attack - Nissan Skyline BNR-34 V-Spec

What is it that enables Japanese tuners to master the theory of proper rim size and offset? Perhaps the Japanese have transcended from generation to generation the importance of extracting the maximum tire adhesion to the tarmac using different compounds and wheel diameters. Regardless, the final outcome is none other than a sick-looking car with rims sitting within millimeters from the fender well. To match the overall scheme of the vehicle and stay away from the typical chrome wheels, Auto Select opted to use a set of 18x11 front and rear Speed Yellow SSR Type-Cs wrapped in Dunlop Direzza 02Gs. Transferring power to the wheels is a custom six-speed Gettrag transmission using Auto Select close-ratio gears. An EXEDY Semi Carbon triple plate clutch ensures all 800 horsepower is powered through the front and rear OS Giken LSD without a hitch.

Carbon fiber is the hottest trend to hit the U.S. and Japan ever since the product was affordably released to the general public. We all know what carbon fiber looks like but what exactly is carbon fiber? Carbon fiber is a polymer, which is composed of a form of graphite. Graphite is a form of pure carbon. Carbon -fiber reinforced composites are not only considered strong for their weight but often stronger than steel. The main attraction is that for the same amount of surface area, they come in at only a fraction of the original material's weight. Possessing durability and benefits of a weight reduction, Auto Select took their R34 to new heights, eliminating the factory doors, trunk lid, front bonnet, bumpers and even the rear taillights in favor of an all carbon-fiber ensemble. Applying additional down force to the rear of the vehicle can be achieved with the Auto Select carbon wing, properly entitled Devil Wing. Completing the exterior is a full carbon-fiber C-West body kit and custom Speed Yellow paint. Carbon fiber overkill? Perhaps but you'd be interested to know carbon fiber is predominant even down to the side mirrors and undercarriage paneling. Finishing touches include the menacing shark graphic scheme perceived and performed by Auto Select, thus properly entitling the racecar the R34 GT-R V-Spec Yellow Shark.

Ajar, the vehicle's door displays a real treat. The interior's craftsmanship is as flawless as the exterior itself. A custom12-point chromoly cage now resides in the confines of the interior while a custom carbon-fiber shell now replaces what were the rear factory seats. Keeping the driver's posterior securely fastened to the Bride bucket seat is a Takata MPH 340 harness. When in excess of 140 kmh, channeling through the turns, monitoring engine vitals can become a life or death situation. To simplify cockpit gauge monitoring, a complete lineup of Max racing MDML meters ensures a simple glance is all that is needed to keep the Skyline charging down the tarmac. Would you believe the vehicle still retains its factory head unit? Were not sure if the driver can actually hear the tunes coming from the speakers with the rumble of the exhaust and spooling of the turbo, but we applaud their efforts nonetheless.

With Auto Select owning various demo cars ranging from a BNR32, a BCNR33 to a JZA80, a S13 and some EK9s, the mechanics and shop owner enthusiastically state their all-time favorite is their Skyline Yellow Shark. Considering the vehicle consists of 800 hp, full carbon body, sick looks and a suspension that slices through the road like no tomorrow...well, we won't argue the facts.
