Bar Honda

Funny then, that it would be those seemingly stodgy, scones-eating, tea-drinking types in Britain to embrace and foster one of the most promising and interesting F1 race teams today. It seems befitting finally, after a full day on the circuit with the BAR folks, that the Honda sponsorship belongs with BAR. The British have it partly right, embodying similar propriety and decorum that the Japanese require as part of their business style and cultures. And, it does seem far fetched for an American team to be esteemed such a privilege, but since we are sometimes considered cousin countries, perhaps Americans will finally "marry-up" so to speak, into F1 culture by raising up an enclave of young racers who can eventually pass muster both culturally and on the race tracks. The distinctive sounds of those three-cylinder, V10 engines high revving at 18,500 rpm is unforgettable and something one craves, and after witnessing the high-tech insides of the BAR Honda team churning away like a small, well-organized city, and the biggest and brightest stars of racing kindly sitting for photo ops, it's hard not to like F1 and wish for a U.S. team. For the first time ever, a Japanese-British super partnership is starting to the have the mystique of unfailing success around it and the world seems to be cheering it on. Everything seems a fit and it looks like Grand Championship stardom for BAR Honda is but a few Grand Prix circuits away.
