Dynamic AutosportsDynamic is most well-known as an aftermarket parts wholesaler and a Honda engine building company. Cylinder head porting is considered "black magic" to most guys, and in the case of Dynamic's head they decided to pass it on to Port Flow Design. Unfortunately this bumps up the price of their horsepower to dollar ratio. The flipside is a guaranteed quality GSR head that will make power. While the porting and finish work will be done by Port Flow guru Tom Fujita, the arsenal being loaded into the head will be all Peak products that are offered by Dynamic Autosports. From the cams down to the valves, the cylinder head runs a full Peak valvetrain.
While the bottom end was assembled at Dynamic we had to travel to Port Flow and follow Tom while he worked his magic on the cylinder head. New seats and guides were installed before the porting began. Combustion chambers were modified to accept the larger 84.5mm bore as well as modifications to smooth out the chambers. The 3 angle valve job is a Port flow spec done on a Serdi seat cutter and a Serdi head resurfacer to give the cylinder head a mirror finish surface job. Port Flow does street and race porting and cylinder head prep. But don't call for quotes on a non-Honda port job because he doesn't work on anything else.

JG Engine DynamicsFrom day one, JG Engine Dynamics said they would build the engine based on what the average garage mechanic could assemble using their own garage and JG components. The cylinder head of choice happens to be a GSR with no custom work applied to it. It will be ported and polished like their off-the-shelf Redline series head. In other words this head is the exact same work you would get if you ordered a Redline series head. According to Javier: "I chose to stick with my redline series 'cause of the price. It works great for the street and since I'm building this engine with a budget racer in mind, I know it will be worth it rather than going with my full race Pro Series head that costs a lot more. The difference will be a little less rpm and power but for the price difference the Redline head will be the more economical route." All JG cylinder heads are CNC ported and hand finished, loaded with JG stainless valves, valve springs and retainers.
