2NR: In regard to vehicles, do you target modified ones?
SS: No. Our main goal is to reduce the deaths or injuries that occur on the streets as a result of street racing.
2NR: What do you consider a modified vehicle?
SS: Any change to a stock vehicle.
2NR: Any change?
SS: If it's a modified vehicle, yes. We read the same magazines you do and know the different types of modifications. Magazines are just one point of reference we use to teach others in law enforcement. It just so happened that I used Import Tuner magazine for a class I taught in San Jose, Calif., last week.
2NR: So let's say you see a lowered vehicle with an aftermarket exhaust. Would you consider that an illegal vehicle?
