The Real-Deal GT-R

Previous time attack events prove this Skyline is a strong contender. This GT-R can make up huge ground in braking zones with its monster stopping system. Brembo's 15-inch front Gran Turismo kit features two-piece rotors and four-piston calipers, while the rear is equipped with 14.6-inch two-piece rotors and four-piston calipers. Wrapped around those massive brakes is a set of 18x10.5-inch Volk Racing CE28 wheels and 275/35-18 Bridgestone S-03 Pole Position tires.

Inside, the car is a lesson in understated street comfort and performance. There is no gutted interior, no 90-point roll cage, and there is a functional air conditioning system. Bride Zeta III seats and Simpson 4-inch belts with Bride pads are the only interior upgrade. A car audio system was built with MB Quart speakers, amplifiers and a subwoofer connected to a Kenwood head unit. The old, stock JDM head unit--while pimping the JDM-goodness--was only able to tune into two radio stations, one world music, the other AM news.

The exterior is also a lesson is subtlety vs. extravagance. The polar opposite of Signal Auto's color-changing, bodykit-wearing GT-R, Johnson's ride sports the cleanest of body mods. A Seibon carbon-fiber hood leads the space-age material's assault on the Skyline. The Mine's canards, front shroud, and Nismo front lip and door trim all rock the carbon-fiber weave. Around the rear, the V-Spec carbon-fiber rear diffuser peaks out along the bottom under tray, while the C-West GT wing and carbon-fiber stays feature prominently on the trunk. The finishing touch was Euphoric Design's vinyl.

Following the disappearance of mucho dollars and time, Johnson has officially built himself one of the greatest Skyline GT-Rs--no, one of the greatest imports--we've seen in quite some time.
