40hp Nitrous Jet TestingIn comparison to the previous 30 hp jetting, the 40 hp jets dyno graph was off and running out the gates at 3150 rpm with a more noticeable dyno curve. At 3700 rpm the graph was shifted towards the left as the baseline of 130.9 wheel hp and 185.5 of torque was overpowered by the 40 hp jetting. Spray results posted new numbers of 172.6 hp and 243.4 lb-ft of torque-a gain of 41.7 and 57.9 respectively. A close analysis at 4500 rpm shows a difference of 32.5 wheel hp and 34.2 lb-ft of torque. Notice the fat torque curve being produced well until 5300rpm-an item essential to smoking tires around banking turns such as Irwinwdale Speedway.

50hp Nitrous Jet TestingIt's interesting to note that when using the 50 hp jetting, the SR20DET was already producing 302.9 lb-ft of torque at 3996 rpm while at the same rpm, the baseline figures were graphed at 223.2 lb-ft. The 300 lb-ft realm wasn't achieved during baseline 'till 5013 rpm-a lag-filled 1017 rpm later. At 4500 rpm, charts showed 284.1wheel hp and 329.3 lb-ft of torque. A difference of 38.3 wheel hp and 41.8 lb-ft of torque was obtained over baseline.

ConclusionAfter a gambit of testing, we came to the conclusion that with drifting, larger sized jets aren't necessary. If anything, we could have downsized the jetting to 20 hp or less to maintain a more linear torque and horsepower graph as the nitrous disengages and the turbo takes over. Upon completing the vehicle, Tang took the vehicle to a sanctioned drift day where he managed to spinout on numerous occasions while shredding multiple sets of tires.
