This is your brain on drugs. OK, it's not. This is what happens when you give a cat too much to eat. Really. In normal operation, a cat burns anything that doesn't get burned by the engine. If a car is running excessively rich, all that unburned fuel leaving the engine ignites inside the cat and literally melts the cat down.
