Other bolt-on engine mods include an oil filter relocation kit, 1000cc catch can, chrome oil filter cap, hi-pressure radiator cap and an air diversion panel; all made by, you guessed it, GReddy. And while we're talking about engine bolt-ons, GReddy is currently working on a set of EASY Camshafts for the S2000, which they plan on installing on this car at a later date. While the specs are still unknown, when combined with their turbo kit, we expect to see some healthy power and torque numbers with this turbo/cam bolt-on combo.
GReddy's got the exhaust and intake covered for S2000 owners, and this car is wearing both. The prototype GReddy SUS EVO2 exhaust sports dual stainless steel 60mm pipes and a GReddy AY-MB intake and air filter filters the intake air. But enough about air filters, lets move on to something much more exciting... like this car's Type-S suspension kit.
GReddy says the suspension on this car was developed to provide the best ride, handling and adjustability possible with a street/track setup. Features like 32-way damping adjustability, a mono-tube design and 46mm pistons help give it some serious road-gripping traction. The spring rates were chosen with performance in mind, while still giving a comfortable ride. The suspension on this car is an off-the-shelf item, keeping with the car's theme.
Since GReddy makes its own wheels, we fully expected to see them on this ride, but for whatever reason, this S2K rides on a set of Volk Racing RE30 wheels. Measuring 18x7.5 up front and 18x8.5 in the rear and wrapped up in a set of Toyo Proxes R888, the wheel/tire combo gets the job done and lets the driver enjoy the benefits of plentiful traction and the superbly-tuned Type-S suspension. But as any boy-racer can tell you, upgraded brakes are always a good idea on a car with a serious boost of horsepower and handling.
For this reason, the braking system on this car wasn't overlooked and the car is outfitted with a GREX brake system. GReddy says the kit was developed to be a full-race spec brake system, but set up for street use. In the case of the S2000 kit, this means the use of GReddy four-piston calipers and GREX brake pads. The brake kit features a two-piece rotor design and is an off-the-shelf item.
Exterior mods are limited to the addition of a Honda Factory Performance front lip spoiler and rear wing. The 3-D "GReddy" graphics scheme was made and applied over the factory paint by Vinyl Mayhem and leave no doubt as to who built this car.
Moving on to the interior, the bolt-on theme is easy to see. Instead of the stripped out interior and custom parts that find their way into most showcars, this S2000 is refreshingly simple and clean-even the stereo and seats are still stock. That's not to say that the cockpit didn't get any attention. To help spruce things up and keep the driver clued into what the boosted engine is up to, GReddy installed all their best electronic gizmos. A PRofec e-01 boost controller, Intelligent Infometer, 60mm warning meter and a Full Auto turbo timer do their part to inform the driver and keep the turbo's bearings happy.
It's hard to say how many hardcore Civic and Accord guys will actually move on to the S2000, but for those that do make the leap, there'll be no shortage of paths available to help them make their roadsters pull a little harder, stop a little shorter and corner a little better. GReddy's taken the guesswork out of building a street/track machine by offering the complete line of bolt-on S2000 parts you see on this 2006 model. As we can see, with the right combination of bolt-on parts, a great car can be made even greater.
