While engine modifications remain subtle in comparison to the now outlandish exterior styling of the Z, Hahn discloses the fact the VQ35DE powerplant is still a work in progress. 2 Visions Racing is currently awaiting final fitment and testing of a custom Top Secret twin turbo package. Because of fitment issues known to exist on the LHD production piece sold in Japan, Top Secret is currently hard at work developing a custom kit for their U.S. spec 350Z. Rather than sit on their laurels and whistle Dixie, 2 Visions Racing went to work on the factory 3.5-liter powerplant as the vehicle is now controlled by a remapped Mine's CPU system. Anticipating high horsepower in the next few months with the soon to be installed turbo kit, a tiptronics automatic upgrade was installed and custom valve body was upgraded in order to fortify the transmission for the soon to be rumored 600hp. Never one to shy away from the car show scene, Hahn and his crew outfitted the Z with a JDM carbon-fiber engine cover and full JDM emblem garnish, adding a touch of style and flavor to the engine bay. An HKS Hi-power exhaust system and high performance filter, mated to a Nismo Z-tube intake pipe help to deliver additional horsepower to the already potent 350Z powerplant.
A quick peek into the interior reveals the true nature of the 2 Visions Racing project vehicle. No gimmicks or gaudy two-tone interior on this Z. "We wanted to build a car worthy of the respect of the Z community," states Hahn. With pen in hand and neurons firing away in the brain, Dow spent long hours envisioning and designing a custom interior, worthy of the 350Z. . Dow took to the phones and found Walnut Creek Audio of Walnut Creek, Calif., to fabricate an entire fiberglass enclosure to house three JL Audio W6 subs, custom painted to match this Z's graphite paint exterior. To ensure sufficient power was delivered to the subwoofers, a pair of JL Audio 1000/1 monoblock and JL Audio 450/4 amplifiers pound the interior cabin with a modest 1500 watts of power. MB Quart Q-line 2-way component speakers provide the midrange and high end vocals while a set of Focal 2-way coaxial speakers reside in the rears. Dow never second guessed the thought of discarding the factory head unit in favor of an Eclipse AVN 5495 navigation head unit. The Eclipse unit fit like a glove and complemented the new custom fiberglass center console that was also spun in graphite paint. A pair of Bride Brix II seats ensure both driver and passenger are firmly planted within the confines of the interior while a set of Takata 340-MPH harnesses provide an extra added sense of security. A custom-made harness bar designed and fabricated by Cusco Japan ties into the bright green harnesses. Future upgrade plans include a Top Secret steering wheel and quick release hub. "We thought the car may be too fast for Matt, but with the use of a hidden in-dash built radar system from Escort, hopefully he will have enough time to brake," states Hahn. Count your blessings and knock on wood Matt!
