Greetings From Canada, Eh.I am new at the business of looking for aftermarket parts. I know that my car is fairly new but I am looking for an intake manifold for my Yaris. Exhaust was not a problem, but for the intake it looks like I am asking for a ride up Mount Everest. Do you have any idea or place that could help me? I think my engine and the Scion xb is the same.Andre BlaisFrom Canada, eh
First, do you really mean intake MANIFOLD? Are you sure you aren't looking for an intake? Unless you're making 250 wheel hp with your lunchbox, there's no reason you need an aftermarket intake manifold. The aftermarket manufacturers all know this... and that's why a manifold is not available as an off-the-shelf part. Now, if you really meant intake, there are a ton out there. AEM, Fujita, and the list goes on .If you really do have your heart set on a new intake manifold, you can always have one custom made. Just be ready to grab your ankles and bring plenty of lube.
Imported For DodgeI have a T3 turbo intercooled '91 Dodge Spirit RT, will an Apexi NEO or any other units work on my car?Theo TinaFrom the Internet
Any quality AFC, like the NEO, should work on any car with speed-density or airflow-based electronic fuel injection. Which means they should work even on your non-import. In a nutshell, as long as the vehicle's got a MAP sensor or airflow meter of some kind, an AFC should work. If you're still not sure, call APEXi or whatever other manufacturer you like. They'll be able to give you the lowdown and let you know if their products will work on your American iron.
Under The InfluenceNothing in this world pleases me more than driving cars or doing performance inhancers. I recently acquired a '96 240sx that will be getting an RB swap. I was just wondering how to get the job of test driving cars or pushing them to their limit. Think you can help to steer me in the right direction?Ben FordFrom the Internet
WTF is a "performance inhancer" anyway? We've heard of performance enhancers before; like steroids, Viagra and whatever that "Live Strong" guy was snorting to win all those races, but what the hell does that have to do with driving? If you want to get a job driving any kind of car, you'd better get off the dope first. Nobody wants a crack head behind the wheel of his or her car.
Where's Waldo?Hi, some time ago, Acura held an RSX challenge to see which mags under Primedia could build the best RSX... Super Street had a feature with specs on their car.. Anyway, how come Import Tuner never featured their "RSX build car"? And if possible could u give any pictures, engine and or suspension specs on it? Thanks a lot! Keep up the good work! Will AtwoodFrom the Internet
Actually, we did have a couple of articles about the buildup. Check out the July 2006 issue to see what was done to the engine to get that much power. If you want to know a little about the paint, wheels, tires, suspension etc, pick up a copy of the October 2006 issue. You're welcome.
