"I was never much into convertibles, either," Kim confesses. Maybe he was just telling me what I wanted to hear, so he could get back to kickin' ass in his S2K, or maybe it was really the truth that he spoke. "And I really didn't like the factory Honda hardtop. But when the Spoon/Mooncraft version was released-I had to have one." We couldn't agree more. Made in Japan by a company called Mooncraft, this Spoon unit not only is more aerodynamic than Honda's, but a tad roomier, and gives the S2000 exactly the perfect touch of style. Finally-all is right with the world!
All the while he built his car, Kim was slowly becoming more and more involved with Team Sadistic. After showing alongside members of the team at numerous SoCal events along the build, Kim was eventually asked to join the team, a move he has never looked back from. "The team's great-one of the biggest reasons I'm still at it with this car," he says, "working on making the team show better is like working on making your car show better-addicting!" No one can say for sure what's in store for this S2000 in the coming months. Even those who know the indecisive, insatiable Kim best won't venture a guess. "My goal was to build a reliable daily driver that could catch the eye of all the sweet ladies out there!" Kim says. "But it's become a mix of looks and performance, with daily driven reliability." He plans to continue showing within the Southern California circuit, with the rest of Team Sadistic, and possibly prep it for track duties once its allure wears on. "I originally intended to race it," he attests. But once the whole show thing took off, his race intentions were put on the back burner. "I'll end up racing it at some point," he promises. "But I'll always keep it street driven. The best feeling is seeing people stare at my car as I drive by and wonder what exactly it is."
