Long Awaited Debuts - Four One One

Tuner forum geeks have been speculating on the specifics of the upcoming Japanese supercars for months, and in the case of the GT-R, years. While the Japanese-spec cars will make their world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in late October, the US-spec cars will bow at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in late November. Typically, vehicles will have minor differences in horsepower and features, with the US-spec cars usually getting the short end of the stick numbers-wise.

While the new Evo's specs have already gone public, new info continues to pour in on the GT-R. Most notably, sources say that the car will be outfitted with a VQ engine; instead, a new VR designation will be given to the 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V6. Horsepower is rated at a staggering 480 hp. Rest assured the car will use plenty of lightweight materials and improved aerodynamic efficiency, namely titanium intake valves, a carbon-fiber hood, magnesium alloy usage for the oil pan, cam covers and exhaust and so on.
