When he does, it should be good for at least a 50 hp boost. Additionally, the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated mill's intake manifold has been ported and polished and the throttle body has been fitted with a larger butterfly. Rounding out the performance goods are Vitek plug wires and NGK Platinum plugs.
You wouldn't think it possible, but the interior on this car may be more amazing than the exterior.
What you see is the stock Mitsubishi vinyl, treated and painted Ferrari Yellow and Ford Mustang Arctic White in a two-tone scheme. According to Bory, the treated vinyl retains some of its factory-made suppleness, so people always ask him what it's made of, as though he had discovered some exotic new material from which to craft his interior.
The stock headliner has been replaced with a white vinyl one and the factory carpet has been replaced with gray tweed.
The back seat has been permanently removed, and in its place are Bory's nitrous bottle and his toggle switches for the air shock system. The front seats have also been removed and replaced with Cobra Monaco competition buckets.
Safety equipment takes the form of an AutoPower roll bar and Sabelt harnesses.
A Sparco steering wheel keeps Bory pointed in the right direction and the factory instrument cluster has been altered with the addition of some APC gauge faces. Additional instrumentation was provided courtesy of AutoMeter, and includes a dash-mounted tach with shift light and, in the passenger-side dash, readings for water temperature, oil pressure and volts.
For his listening pleasure, Bory has installed an Eclipse head unit in a custom dash panel, Boston Acoustics mids and highs in the doors and three aluminum Eclipse subs in a custom enclosure in the trunk. Three Eclipse amps and a single Rockford Fosgate amp power the system. The sound system was designed and installed by Al & Ed's Autosound in Lakewood, Calif.
It may be a daunting task to give your car a complete make over in only four months time, but actually, the only constraints will be your creative stamina and will to succeed. Of course, a small amount of diplomacy won't hurt to help you rack up the sponsors; it makes my head spin in sheer awe and amazement to know that Bory financed this project on his own.
