1997 Acura Integra - Pure Innovation

A Tricked-Out 1997 Integra

It would be the new S15 headlights that would serve as the centerpiece of the Acura's latest transformation.

Keeping with the innovative theme, a Blitz bumper for the Supra was modified to fit the new lights as well as the Blitz side skirts. Not satisfied with those additions, Ly fit a custom Feel's wide-body kit onto the sides and finished off the rear with a Lexus GS Win rear bumper. ABCD Autobody is credited for fitting and painting the entire Fiberglass extravaganza silver and white.

In order to lower the Integra to its desired height, V-Spec Version 2 coilovers were slipped over Tokico adjustable shocks. The adjustable coilovers and shocks allow for the suspension to be finely tuned according to Ly's desired needs. In order to further stiffen the suspension, A.C. Autotechnic front and rear strut tower braces were utilized. Brembo calipers and KRP cross-drilled/slotted rotors take advantage of the modified suspension and allow a shorter braking distance.

The final link with the asphalt is provided by pearl white 17-inch Katana Concept 6 wheels, wrapped with Yokohama rubber.

Adding shine under the hood are an A.C. Autotechnic intake with twister filter and a polished valve cover. Toucan 9 mm wires and yellow loom runs throughout the engine bay, serving to add color to the chrome.

To increase power output on the stock B18B motor, the throttle body and cam sprockets were swapped in favor of upgraded JG parts.

A Blitz exhaust system adds function to form, as it allows the engine to breathe easier through the wide 2.5-inch piping and looks sharp peeking out from under the rear bumper.

For the interior, Ly opted to go for a clean look to contrast the crazy exterior. The interior was taken to Apollo Upholstery, where it was vinyled in white and gray. Apollo also experimented with tweed and reupholstered the headliner in a matching gray.

For the finishing touches, a white face indiglo cluster covers the dull stock readouts and an A.C. Autotechnic shiftknob and brake handle accents the center console.

When asked what was next for his Integra, Ly responded with a smile and a shrewd "you'll see."

The only insight he would offer us is that the Integra was going back in for a total makeover.

Whatever the next transformation may be, we'll have to wait. But you can be sure that with the help of VIS, it will be another innovative creation worth waiting for.
