1993 Honda Civic del SolOwner: James Powers; Ridgecrest, Calif.James Powers has high hopes for his '93 del Sol, in that it may one day run in the low 13s and high 12s. In order to achieve this goal, Powers has done away with the original engine in favor of a B16A. Following the engine swap, an Akimoto intake was added, along with a DC Sports four-to-one header and Tanabe Hyper Medalion exhaust. With breathing chores taken care of, Powers then added a Mugen computer to take care of fuel demands. The tranny has been beefed up with an ACT stage 3 clutch and limited-slip differential. Additional stopping power comes by means of a set of cross-drilled rotors all the way around. Currently, the exterior has been upgraded with a VIS body kit and custom paint job performed by his brother's paint shop. Future plans call for a set of AEM adjustable cam sprockets, Crower cams and titanium valve springs and retainer keep valvetrain events in check at all times. Also on the horizon are a set of new pistons and rods to go along with the plans for a turbo kit. With these plans, the sky is obviously the limit.
