Get'em While You Can...Yes! The rumors are true! AUTOCANNON's very own Max Boost comic (Import Tuners' exclusive feature) will become a full-blown toy line. The expected release date is sometime this fall or winter of 2001. A deal struck between AUTOCANNON and N2Toys (formerly known as Warner Brother Toys) will bring our favorite characters Max, Otto, Todd (Yes, Todd. They needed a villain in the toy line), and a secret girl racer character! Hey AUTOCANNON, does this mean we get to see a Papa Wheely figure with a kung-fu grip?
The first release of the toys will feature each of the four characters mentioned above, packaged with their respective cars, a car-decal sticker pack and a comic. The cars will include pull-back, wind-up motors, pearlescent paint jobs, rubber tires with unique tread, 25-inch rims, big exhausts and other exciting details that you would expect from the world's only 2D street racers!
The rumor mill also says that AUTOCANNON has been working on a 3D, computer-animated Max Boost cartoon demo, which means that a full-blown cartoon may soon be in development.
For more information about the toys and animation, check out AUTOCANNON.com. We'll keep our fingers crossed!
Date: March 31, 2001Location: Heritage Park, Cerritos, CAAsianGroove certainly knows how to throw a mean party and its picnic in late March was no exception. Does anyone know a better way of spending a weekend afternoon than barbequeing some chicken, mingling with hot ladies and playing some b-ball? Import Tuner doesn't; we knew this was a shindig we could not miss. Jasmine Fox Li (www.jasminefoxli.com) and Jocelyn Diaz were some of the notable import models in attendance, along with the ladies of AsianGroove. They were out in full force shaking their thangs and helping out with the festivities. Mixwell provided the audio entertainment and AG provided the grub to feed the hungry masses. AG also filled the parking lot with its own collection of 2NR cars.
If this sounds like an event you would've liked to attend, then get into the groove to find out more about future AG events at asiangroove.com. 'Til then, stay tuned.
