2001 Honda Civic - Building Boost Part Deux
Our EK Civic Gets A Makeover

They said it could be done, but when I got all the parts they said it couldn't be done. Now, we've proved them wrong. Thanks to a combination effort from SDCS and Pann, we managed to stuff a set of 19x7-in. RH Evolution C5s underneath the wheelwells, wrapped in the only tire in the world that would fit this particular application, Pirelli's P7000 in a very special 215/35R19 size. (We know, Max Boost had a set of Racing Hart C5000s, but we just couldn't find those anywhere.)
For those of you foolish enough to stuff 19s on your Civic hatchback and expect it to have proper suspension travel and turning ability, be warned-there's a lot of major sheetmetal cutting and fiberglass sanding to do, and that's after you adjust the coilovers in a higher-than-stock position. Still, we think it came out looking like a piece of chocolate cake at a Weight Watchers convention-highly desirable.
What's next on the list? We very well can't roll around looking this good with a 106-hp DX motor under the hood, can we? Well, we could, but it takes a lot of energy to drive those 19s, so be on the lookout for our next major overhaul: a B18C Type R 1996-spec culled straight from a DC2 chassis. If you're not up to your Honda engine and chassis codes, now's the time to look them up while we wait for the boat to hit the docks with our motor.
