2002 Subaru Impreza WRX - Born Again

How Firing Up A Brand-New Wrx Drove One Die-Hard Show Car Builder To Change His Ways

With the project now complete, Terry and Paul are putting away the tools and picking up the Quick Detailer and C16. The car won its class at last year's NOPI Nationals, attended SEMA in Vegas a few months after that, stole the Hot Import Nights Chicago show earlier this summer, rolled out 618 whp on the P&L Dynojet, and has run consistent 10.80s down the 1320. As of this writing, it is the most dualistic show/track car we've ever seen. Perhaps the root of its on-track success and showroom appeal, is that it was modified in functional, balanced ways that enhance the nature of its original design, instead of just turning heads via overbearing flash and haphazard departures from the norm that cursed our scene in its early days-lessons that can only be learned through moments of clarity that accompany experience; that allow the lucky few among us to realize their goals.
