Goal.
to build the most powerful NSX in the world
Poised, measured, balanced, respected; if the NSX is the real "Wolf" in Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, then the Skyline GT-R is Butch Coolidge-cutting down everything in its path, making up the rules as it goes, and winning the day with brute force. The NSX's story is one of tradition and excellence, of sparing no expense to create a refined, mild-mannered masterpiece. The GT-R's is one of flat-out, ass-kicking raw power. The NSX commands respect from its rivals. The GT-R triggers unbridled fear in its.
The GT-R's history dates back 46 years, when Nissan/Datsun's Prince namesake transitioned the company's Skyline marquee from luxury to sportscar, by shoehorning an inline-six engine into one of their stripped-down family sedans, calling it the S54 2000 GT-B (Berlinetta), and nearly winning the GT-II Class of the Japanese Grand Prix that year (clinching the Second through Sixth spots). The following model year saw the platform refined in the GC10 chassis, and by 1969, a trim of the 2000GT with a 160hp 2.0-liter DOHC inline-six, dubbed the GT-R (for "Gran Turismo Racer"), proceeded to score 33 victories in its first year and a half of competition, and is rumored to have amassed over a thousand within four years, with 49 consecutive wins at one point. The new car was a hit among the Japanese public, who immediately bought up as many of the PGC10 sedans and KPGC10 coupes as they could. Production of the Skyline continued from 1973 through 1977 in the C110 chassis, but the GT-R trim was removed from the marquee after only a few months of production, in the wake of the global commodities crash.
