About a year ago I had the opportunity to sit with Sunisa and chat a little bit about nothing. It was just a little coffee shop visit before she went to her little birthday bash. We chatted about her being on the cover and seeing if it could happen. A year later, here she is. I caught up with her again to do a quick follow-up. She's definitely got a busy schedule, and any time she gave me was precious. She has to be somewhere at 10 and I will milk it as long as I can.
Sunisa was hard to get a hold of then and it seems things didn't change too much between us. I mean, if you exclude my extra 20 pounds and her increasing beauty. She's still got her quick wit and a spicy attitude that she backs up with her little hobby called Jiu Jitsu-you know, that grappling and submission martial art you see in those Ultimate Fighter blood matches. In fact, I'd venture to guess that her combination of exotic beauty, quick-witted attitude and skilled pain inducement techniques would be the ultimate bad evening for an obnoxious dude on a bad clubbing night.
Sunisa is only in her third year of import modeling and rsum-worthy backers like Yokohama and G4 television only helped her quick rise. This month we introduce a beautiful model that is sure to make you park your ride, sit back in your Sparcos and send you to an erotic dream world.
2NR: You are a Virgo. Do you know some of the traits of a Virgo?
Sunisa Kim: Yes, we Virgos are known to be very creative, loyal and helpful. Personality wise, were very intelligent and analytical, meticulous and reliable, modest and shy, just to name a few traits.
2NR: Since we've been going back and forth missing each other and trading voicemails-if you have plans with one, you better be flexible.
SK: I'm sorry!
2NR: I'll be bitter all evening.
2NR: So what is different with the girl I met a year ago? Still have the shoe thing going on?
SK: I'm more into my career, more business-minded and driven-not that I wasn't driven before, but now that I know what I want, I'm found more focus. The shoe thing was my philosophy on guys but the shoe thing for me, has cost me a lot of money and closet space
2NR: Does the man you're with gonna have some clean shoes?
SK: Of course! He's gonna be sporting Bathing Ape!
2NR: Wow. A "Bape" referance. Impressive.
2NR: So what's new with the 2006 Sunisa Kim.
SK: Well everything is new but don't you want to know what happened since the last time we talked? Like "What was big in '05"?
2NR: You are really controlling. That would be fun in some situations...like the bedroom...and during long driving trips but right now?
SK:
2NR: So... "What's happened since the last time we talked?" How's that?
SK: Good! I'm not working with kids anymore, I decided to go full time with my modeling. During my spare time I'm working for a creative design firm as their marketing/public relations representative-I mean "creative marketing design firm". I do public relations and help with marketing strategies and ideas
2NR: I'm guessing long days?
SK: No. I'm there whenever I don't have a modeling gig or auditions to go to and when I dedicate my weekends. But if you remember, I worked for a non-profit agency. We provided mental health and social services-mostly to the Asian community.
2NR: What about those poor lil kids that you left at the center? Don't you care about them no mo?
SK: I liked working with the kids but I decided to leave because I wanted to use my skills and abilities in business marketing-it's what I went to school for. PR was from modeling-I learned a lot from modeling. You see for me modeling isn't just the act of being a model-it's about learning from it and enhancing it to its fullest potential to help figure out later on what career I want to peruse. I've learned how to network, market myself, and learn aspects of business relationships.
