2nr: We all know you got paid! What did you buy?
AS: (giggles) I've been so busy that I never got a chance to go shopping. What I'm going to do is, after filming, I'm going to Europe for a 3-week vacation.
2nr: So when do you wrap the film?
AS: We shoot for 5 weeks and I've got 2 weeks left.
2nr: Is 5 weeks enough time?
AS: The director, Bob Berlinger, has been directing for a long time and he's fast. He knows what he wants, and we do it. We don't have to do a bunch of takes.
2nr: Tell me about your filming day.
AS: The movie is a prequel and I play a young Daisy Duke. She's conservative...frumpy. But she's trying to get the attention of this guy, so she goes through her closet to see what would impress him and that's where she comes up with the short shorts.
2nr: Ah, yes. The Daisy Dukes!
AS: There's a big difference in looks between both characters, so naturally, there's a lot of time spent on hair, make up, and wardrobe changes. I have about 28 costume changes.
2nr: Is Daisy Duke anything like you?
AS: A lot of her is like me. It's probably why I was cast in this role. We're actually filming on a working farm. We're in the barn, in the dirt-there's lots of dust. Some of the GUYS are bothered by that stuff but I'm not bothered at all. Daisy is a real tomboy. She's doing everything from spray painting fences to hoisting engines. After this movie, I should have a mechanic's license.
2nr: When you were growing up, what did you play with more-dolls or rocks?
AS: (laughs) I did both. I grew up on a farm!
2nr: Your accent comes to you naturally. The Duke clan is from the south. Did you have to play it up for this movie?
AS: My accent? You mean Southern? Half the time, I don't even know I have an accent. I think it goes on and off. Since they are from Georgia I had to play my accent up.
2nr: Southern Cali is a far ways from the conservative south.
AS: I've been here for 4 years now and it feels like I've been here forever. When I first got here, there was definitely a culture shock. But I think I adjusted well.
2nr: Hollywood is mecca for actors that want to be in television and film. With that, there are a lot of people who would prey on nice southern gals like yourself.
AS: I know that some girls would buy in to a lot of stuff but I've never been one to believe too quickly. One time, a producer approached me and said he wanted to put me into this big movie-I never really bought it. I think I have a good head on my shoulders.
