There's a certain James Bond type of feeling when you go to model shoots. You get directions to a secret location--in this case an old meat locker on the outskirts of downtown Los Angeles--and the mystery continues when you get there. I walked up and people looked at me with a required friendliness--it's the kind of look you get when people don't know what you do or why you're here but since you ARE here someone involved must have let you know. One thing is for certain, Rikki and Vikki looked like they were meant to be here.
Being cooped up in that old meat locker for six hours is not fun, and It felt like the solo box fan sitting on the floor by the sliding door of the locker had no purpose other than to make noise. Ok, well, the Art Director, Editor and myself didn't have to suffer too much. We ran in and out of the booth to grab some of the catered sandwiches and drinks and went for a number of smoke breaks. Our pick for this month's cover was a great choice: They're super hot and they're twins. Who could fuck up that shot?
They shot for the Playboy leather collection and might be Playmates. Also they're set to appear in a movie called "Rough Justice," set to hit theatres in 2005. They kick off their tour at HIN San Diego--appearing as celebrity hosts, along with Brande Roderick ("Baywatch," "Starsky & Hutch") and Angelica Bridges ("Baywatch," "Mortal Kombat"). We're honored to help launch their careers in the import industry. Damn we're good.
2NR: What was your first experience in modeling?
R: Hooters was our first.
2NR: Did you worked for Hooters?
V: First we were waitresses then we became spokesmodels. We did cardboard cutouts and promotional fliers.
2NR: How did you make your jump from hooters modeling to mainstream modeling?
R: A guy named Dove from DGI saw us doing some modeling work, called us up and ever since then it's been a dream come true. We've met a lot of cool people and been to a lot of cool places that we would have never been to.
2NR: What is it you like to drink when you are out on the town?
R: Miller Lite. Draft.
V: But if we were going to drink a shot I would drink a Jeagermeister and she'd have something fruity and girly.
R: Like a cosmopolitan shot.
V: That's not a shot. That's a drink.
R: Well I don't know. It's not like I go out and pick one for myself. They get handed to me.
V: Right. Whatever.
2NR: Do you bicker often?
V&R: Yeah. We do.
2NR: Rikki, You've got a bruise on your arm.
R: Let's just say that I party hard.
2NR: Who usually wins? Rikki you're older. Do you win?
V: I get on her nerves more. So I guess I'd probably win.
R: She knows me more.
2NR: Do you have any good twin stories?
R: Well when my kidney failed she was a donor.
R: I can't think of one.
2NR: Well, I heard that you two actually went at it.
V: Ok. She kicked my ass! It was the only time we ever got into a fight.
R: We were at a Hooters in Jacksonville, Fla. and we drank a lot and went to bed. Vikki tried to wake me up to take a shower. She just started hitting me. I had all these scratches.
V: I was like, "Rikki I don't want to do this."
R: The funny thing is that we were both wearing towels and they came off really fast.
2NR: Excuse me. Sorry. Ok I'm good. Was this a full on fist fight?
V: Yeah! She punched me in the head.
R: She finally locked herself in the bathroom, but I'm the one with all the scratches on my back.
V: I didn't want to punch her. She's my sister.
2NR: But she punched you in the head!
R: She was hiding underneath the blanket. I couldn't see what I was hitting. Besides we were drunk. We don't really even know what happened.
V: Well we kinda know. We were both sleeping...
2NR: You sleep together in the same bed?
R: Whenever we sleep at hotels we do.
2NR: I could just end this interview here and leave our male readers googily-eyed and drooling over a true story about how extremely attractive, hot-bodied, drunken, twin sisters in towels fight over who had to shower first. Throw in a referee and we got ourselves a show.
R: Well, It was our only fight ever. It was a vacation; you're allowed to do crazy stuff.
2NR: So you don't like fighters? What if he's a huge guy and during a fight has to konk someone on the top of his head just once because he's acting craz, is that a fighter or defender?
V: That's not cool. I like a guy that can stand up for himself but doesn't end up punching somebody. If you're a huge guy you should just be able to stand there and just look huge. Intimidate with your presence not with your fists.
2NR: Who's the bad twin?
V: We were even at one point, but now I think its Rikki.
R: I got out of a 3-and-a-half year relationship, so I kinda went crazy for a little bit. I'm calming down now. We broke up on St. Patrick's day.
2NR: Any tats or piercings?
R: I have my left nipple, my neck, and my eyebrow.
V: We talked about getting matching bunnies at one point. She was going to get a little devil and I was going to get an angel.
R: But I'd never get a tattoo so we won't do it.
2NR: About your turn-ons, you said you like big tippers?
R: The most I ever got was $350. But I don't mean my turn on is someone tipping me. I was a waitress so I like it when a man tips well. I don't a guy who's cheap.
2NR: I'm just noticing the promise ring. You're taken?
V: Rikki meets a lot of boys. She meets enough for the both of us.
R: Come and get me boys!
2NR: The best part about being twins?
V: I get to go through every part of my life with somebody I love very much and who has been with me since I was a fertilized egg.
2NR: Aww. How sweet.
R: No. We were one once, then we split in half.
V: Yeah that's right.
2NR: There it goes the sweetness. Seems like you guys are on the same page a lot.
V: Sometimes we'll have the same dream. Or I'll dream something that she's done that night.
2NR: Your closeness must bug other people.
V: Yeah. Her ex hated me. Mine loves taking us out with each of us by his side.
R: He hated the fact that I loved somebody more than I loved him. It was hard for him because he loved me more than anyone else, and that I'd always chooses her over him. I'm kind of sensitive about that right now.
2NR: Need a hug?
2NR: Ever get tired of each other?
R: We do everything together. Work. School. Modeling.
2NR: Don't forget sleep together.
V: We get annoyed about something but after about 5 minutes, we're cool.
2NR: Have either of you been chosen over the other?
R: In high school she got into Varsity cheer I was stuck in JV. But I got into honor society and she didn't.
V: We were supposed to walk together [at graduation], but since she got into honor society, she walked ahead of me.
R: As far as guys go, we're not attracted to the same type of guys.
2NR: You could get any man of your choosing. What do you like about a man?
R: I like guys that look like guys. Not a pretty boy or a metrosexual or anything like that.
2NR: How could we get you to notice us?
R: Just being funny and outgoing--like a guy laughing and having a good time with his friends. A guy that looks happy would get my attention.
V: I like compassion and guys that are motivated and want to do something with their life. I like pretty boys and guys with nice bodies. It wouldn't hurt to send some drinks over!
2NR: Besides the ones you had on today, do you have any favorite outfits designed to attract attention?
V: Our ice cream skirts with matching leg warmers and white shirts that falls off the shoulder.
2NR: When you want to turn on your man what's the subtle hint that you give him?
V: He always wants me! I don't know! I plead the fifth!
R: Well, if I'm out I just look him in the eyes and kinda give him an up and down look. I don't know if it turns him on, but he'll usually come over.
2NR: Where should a fan go to see you when you're just kicking back?
V: We like to go to Pacific Beach.
R: Like right in front of World Famous. That's where everybody hangs out.
V: Or PB Bar and Grill or at Moondoogies--but Vegas is fun too.
2NR: You guys really just like hanging out and having fun?
V: Yep. We're college students!
2NR: For actually being hot twins, girls for that matter, you are both really modest about it.
R: That's what our dad says too. He'll say, "You don't know how beautiful you really are."
V: We're like, "Dad you're so sweet, but you say that to all your children."
2NR: Does dad know that you might be playmates?
R: My dad would love it if we were playmates. He is addicted to "Playboy." He has every issue. When my dad found out, he was really excited for us.
V: When we got home he'd show us the cyber girl ofthe week.
R: One time he showed us a picture of this girl he was excited about, and a week later we met her.
2NR: So dad WON'T mind?
R&V: It's just a body.
2NR: A banging body. What's the best part of your sister's body?
R: She has nice teeth. But I like her booty.
V: My booty? I'm booty-booty-licious? I actually like HER booty...and her eyes too.
2NR: What do you have over the Olsen twins?
V: We're not bulimic!
R: That's sad; she just checked herself into the hospital for an eating disorder.
V: It's hard to have to keep checking yourself out in the mirror to see your flaws.
R: Then again, we don't have 300 million dollars to protect.
V: But we're 21, so we can drink legally! That's what we have over them.
R: Woo hoo!
The studio had shut down by 6 p.m. and the lights were starting to go out. It was already fourty-five after six and we had just wrapped up. The twins weren't done for the day. They had set up another personal shoot somewhere in the city to celebrate their cover shoot with us. They smiled and were bubbly the whole time--but not like a couple of air-heads. You could tell that these twins were just excited to be doing something fun. The shoot wasn't for the exposure or the potential fame or even the money--it doesn't seem a far-fetched idea that these two were just out to have a good time.
