It's never supposed to rain in Southern California (especially during a photo shoot) but Murphy's Law had its way. It was a drizzly Thursday in downtown Los Angeles. It wasn't wet enough to slide on, but it was just enough to mix with the dust on the windshield and form a thin layer of mud the wipers couldn't squeegee.
We all went to the cover shoot for this year's Import Tuner Model Search winner, Miss CJ Gibson. Maybe it was to quell our curiosity since the readers chose who went on the cover. Maybe it was because we knew she was so blatantly hot that to miss this shoot would be an import scene sin.
CJ warned me about her attention deficit disorder tendencies. When it came time for the interview she was all over the place. It was like a conversational car chase where we bounced from topic to topic frequently. Who cares though, right? The girl is nice, and she's hot. After awhile, you understand she's not only comfortable in her skin but she's also not afraid to be herself and do her own thing. Not that you need it, Miss Gibson. Welcome to the import scene. Have at it.
2NR: Have you been modeling long?
CJ: I actually started modeling two years ago-mostly swimsuit modeling. I never thought I could model, but there were a lot of people telling me I should try it. Now I get to be on the cover of Import Tuner.
2NR: I noticed your abs during the shoot. Mmmm. Nice. You must have played sports in high school.
CJ: I did. Oh wait. Well, I was on the weight lifting team. Oh wait. I was in a weight lifting class! The only reason I took the class was so I could leave school early. When the teacher left, I'd sneak home to get some sleep.
2NR: OK. So the answer is "no." Do you work out?
CJ: I pretend to. I go to the beach. I go to the mall. I go running. I go rollerblading. I go dancing. Most of the time I just try to eat healthy. I'm really an active person so I'm always out and about. I think I have ADD because I can't sit still for more than ten minutes.
2NR: What do you like to eat. Any late-night cravings?
CJ: Ice cream and chocolate. Maybe soup. But French vanilla cappuccinos are my downfall. I have one every other day. I pick it up at the gas station and add extra French vanilla creamer-fat free of course.
2NR: They only come fat free. This is what you do to keep skinny?
CJ: They say being skinny makes your breasts look big.
2NR: I agree. So ... how long have you known your friends? (I glance at her breasts.)
CJ: (She looks down again and-with a giggle-cups, squeezes and shakes them.) What do you think?
2NR: Wow. Well, they're the realest ones ever waved in my face without me holding a fistful of dollar bills and smelling like Pabst Blue Ribbon.
CJ: Well, they're real-ly mine!
2NR: Well, they're real-ly nice.
2NR: With you doing that I can't hear a word you're saying. Let them go and let's move on. How busy is your schedule?
CJ: Modeling has been my job for a while now and luckily for me I'm booked all the time. I travel a lot and I really do live right out of my suitcase.
2NR: What did you do for cash before modeling?
CJ: I had a job at a pizza place once. I didn't think it was a cool job for a girl because I would have gotten fat eating all the food. By the time I would get off, I'd smell like pizza the rest of the day. In college my parents were really supportive. When I went out I really didn't have to pay for anything because guys were always trying to buy me drinks and dinners.
2NR: So no real jobs, huh? Seems you go out often. Do you have a favorite drink?
CJ: It changes every month. One month it'll be sweet, and sour the next. I'm a vodka girl right now so I'd do a Grey Goose and tonic.
