Carmella DeCesare has had a lot of fun in her past four years in modeling. Starting as some chick working at a title company back in Ohio, she thought long and hard about entering the entertainment game. Her first jump? She was one of the contestants in "Who wants to be a Playboy Centerfold." She quit the show, actually walking off to preserve her dignity. In doing so, she got a convincing call from Hef to do a test shoot for the magazine. She appeared and was chosen for Playmate of the Month, appearing center spread in the April 2003 issue. She was so well received that she eventually won 2004 Playmate of the Year. Carmella is a firecracker with a "been there, done that" resume. It explains the fact that she likes to stay out of trouble and just chill at home. I gotta tell you...there's nothing better than having a playboy model walking around the house. Ok, maybe just a couple things better.
2nr: You are a busy woman-I'm so glad I could catch up with you. What's all that noise in the background?
Carmella DeCesare: I'm at a salon right now. I'm getting ready for a dinner with some of the playmates.
2nr: What's your week like?
CD: It all depends, it's not consistent. Last week, I did a two-day print packaging shoot for Jessica Simpson's new product. The week involves shooting, current work and casting.
2nr: Have you ever done anything outside of modeling?
CD: I used to work at a title company out in Ohio.
2nr: And you found that you were too pretty for the office?
CD: No. I just found it more interesting for me to be in the entertainment business. I like the work and it really gives me a lot of flexibility in my schedule.
2nr: Tell me about you and Playboy.
CD: I have a really good relationship with Hef, Playboy, and all the girls-they're family to me. I have the greatest respect for Playboy enterprises. I'm still pretty involved-the Playmate of the Year luncheon is tomorrow and we did a taping for The Girls Next Door-we have a dinner and a slumber party.
2nr: What's you favorite part of modeling?
CD: Probably the fact that I don't have to work everyday!
2nr: Lazy?
CD: I don't think I'm lazy. I work and go to school!
2nr: What would you need school for-you are a hot model.
CD: I'm going to get a degree in business. So I'm taking all the business-oriented classes now.
2nr: What's after modeling for you?
CD: I don't know. I'm more of a day-to-day type person. Hopefully I get married and have...babies. It's a long time from now, but eventually.
2nr: I'm guessing to have a baby you'll need a man. Do look for something particular?
CD: I've been thinking about that lately. About three years ago I would have wanted certain physical features. Lately though, I found that I don't have a "type" anymore. In this business people fall into being fake and superficial and I'm glad that I haven't fallen into that. With the perfect person, there's not one standalone thing about them that makes them perfect. It's all about who the person is. If he can be real and is a great person, then that's what matters to me.
2nr: C'mon you must have a personality that you lean toward.
CD: They just have to be a good person-honest, caring... someone that can just be themselves.
2nr: Do you have a favorite food?
CD: I love everything, but if you want to score some points, take me to the Chart House.
2nr: And order you up some...shrimp...and a salad?
CD: Or Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi.
