The sugar cookies were so good. Besides the makeup thing, you're the only model to bring the crew food to the photoshoot. Oh and your mom's Filipino food you brought to the track today-Lumpiang and Bistek-bomb!
I know! She is the best. I can't believe she made all of that for the guys. It was gone so fast. She made that especially for you.
Especially for me? Now you're just trying to make me feel special...and it's working!
I'm good at making people feel special. [Laughs]
See, now that statement, it's less special-feel making. It's a counter-special statement, really.
[Laughs] OK. I take it back.
Now I feel special.
See! I am awesome!
OK. But only for me!
Deal.
Word! Back to Vegas. What did you think of the FD event?
I thought it was a lot of fun and being at my hometown made it extra special. I invited everyone. Even people who didn't know much about drifting came out, and now they're all fans.
That's the cool thing about drifting. I've invited my sisters, who aren't into car events at all, to Long Beach and they loved it. What do you think it is about drifting that appeals to such a broad base?
I think the appeal is that everyone can get the basics down pretty quickly and understand what is going on. Plus, it is unlike other motorsports. It's very unique and exciting to watch.
OK, Miss Formula D, let's test your drift knowledge: What do the judges look for during competition?
There are four things they look for: speed, line, angle, and overall impression.
Nice. Who won Formula D last year?
Tanner.
Here's a tougher one. Who was the only driver to win two Formula D titles?
Hmmm, I might need to look that up.
Hint: He's Swedish. And his last name rhymes with Bubinette.
[Laughs] Sam. That's who I thought it was, but I didn't know he was Swedish. I thought he was German...oops!
Just cause he's blond and white doesn't mean he's German!
[Laughs] Why didn't you ask me the current standings? I know those!
Who's the top three in point standings as of Vegas?
Foust, Hubinette, Yoshihara?
Yep! Let's get subjective: Who's your favorite drifter and why?
Well, I really like Chris Forsberg because he gave me my first ride along in Long Beach. I think Tanner Foust is super skilled, but everyone thinks that I guess. I also like Ken Gushi. I like his car and he is a really cool guy.
If you had to pick, out of speed, line, or angle, which do you look for the most in a drifter?
I pick overall impression. I know that is not one of your options, but I don't want to pick just one thing. I like something that is the whole package.
That's the easy answer! Do you have a favorite drift car?
Ken Gushi's.
It was our cover car back in June.
I know. I bought that issue!
Out of all the tracks you've been to, do you have one that you like?
I liked the one in Long Beach. The energy was really cool and I liked how the streets were part of the course.
Here's a drift question that involves you being wet and naked. Have you ever showered after an event and had tire chunks come out your hair?
Ewww! No! How would I get tire chunks in my hair? I'm not laying on the track.
For the next event, hang out in the press area for the Top 16, I guarantee you'll know what I'm talking about. In fact tonight, I left little tire bits in the hotel shower floor.
Gross! I hang out in the press area and I have never had a tire chunk in my hair. I don't know what you are doing out there, but you should stop it.
Oh, that and your face and boogers are all black.
Yuck! I don't ever have boogers!
How could you not have boogers?
I am booger free. Don't be jealous!
That is physically impossible! You'd be broken. [Peering at her face.]
Stop looking up my nose!
I can't help it. I need evidence.
I'm booger free, I'm telling you!
Next you're going to tell me you don't fart.
I don't! I hate farts! Even when guys do it. That is soooo a deal breaker! Well, if you fart in your sleep then it is funny and cute.
