Interview with Helen Lywww.helenly.com2NR: Where did you grow up?HL: I was originally born in Ft. Worth, Texas, but I grew up in Ontario, Canada, right across the river from Detroit.
2NR: That must be pretty different from Sacramento!HL: It is, but I loved it up there. It was beautiful! I want to move back eventually, but right now, all of my friends are here in Sacramento. Plus, I'm trying to finish school.
2NR: I noticed that one of your hobbies was "piercings". Talk to me about these piercings.HL: I think it's because I have a thing for pain. I really like piercings. Especially ones that are hidden. Right now, I have 11--7 in each year, 2 in my nose, 1 in my tongue, and one "down there." I hope to get 2 more soon.
2NR: And with that information, all the single guys are going to want to know if you're looking!HL: Well, someone just recently came into my life. We aren't committed, but it's going well! He's going to be the first guy to teach me how to break dance.
2NR: So you have to breakdance to date you?HL: Not really, I just like odd things like that.
2NR: How exactly did you get into modeling?HL: One of my friends asked me to model for his car last year at Import Revolution, he was with Team Hakori. I really liked it, and have been doing shows ever since. This year I'm doing some stuff with Mazda, and I really like it.
2NR: Outside of modeling, do you have a regular 9-to-5 job? Are you pursuing school?HL: Right now I'm a manager for a surf and skate shop.
2NR: Can you skateboard?!HL: Yeah, but I can't do any tricks. My photographers got mad when I started showing up to photoshoots with cuts and bruises. So I just skate around town. I have a lot of fun with it, especially working in a skate shop.
2NR: When you don't skate, what ride gets you around town?HL: It's a four-door Integra. It's a little hooked up. I just put a b20 in it, but that's because I toasted my GSR motor with my cold-air intake.
2NR: If this whole modeling thing works out for you, what kind of dream car would you be purchasing?HL: I wouldn't be able to decide between a 55 Chevy Bel-Air or Dodge Viper GTS.
