Interview with Amanda Habeck
2NR: I'm looking at your info sheet, and it says you're really into a custom '97 Camry. Tell me about this Camry.
AH: Well, we've been working on it for a few years, we've got it pretty well sponsored. We just recently picked up a car audio sponsor who gave us a full system, and it's getting shot for a magazine very shortly here. We're pretty excited about it.
2NR: How long ago did you get into modeling?
AH: I just got into it last summer, and they found me! We were working with one of our sponsors and they asked me to model for them because our car was in their booth a lot. The sponsors like it because they can get a car and a model in one phone call. Plus, I'm already there at the show, I might as well make a little money working as a model!
2NR: What made you decide to be a model?
AH: It's a lot of fun, I enjoy it. It's all about having fun for me! I'm at the shows anyway, so modeling is a way for me to have fun and pass the time.
2NR: What are you doing outside of modeling?
AH: I spend a lot of time with my baby boy, Edward, who's 21 months old. I get to stay home and take care of him, that's definitely a job and a half.
2NR: Being in Philadelphia, you've got to be a Phillies or Sixers fan. Which one is it for you?
AH: I'm really not into sports all that much. I like to work out, but I could care less about sports; my husband is more into that. I chase a toddler around all the time, that's about as good as it gets. You'd be surprised by what they can do, although I'm lucky, my kid is very good and stays out of trouble.
2NR: Being a Pediatric Therapist sounds like it took a lot of school!
AH: Its about six years. I've gotten through some of it, but it's on hold right now because of the kid. When he gets older, I'll definitely go back to school, get my degree, and start practicing.
2NR: Being at home, you probably have a lot of time to watch movies. Can you pick a favorite?
AH: I just saw "A Beautiful Mind," that was really cool! I liked that one. "Pretty Woman" is one of my favorites as well. That's kinda girly though. We also just saw "8 Mile," that was pretty good.
2NR: Are you one of the many Eminem fanatics?
AH: Actually, not really. My husband listens to some of his music, I'm not that big a fan. I kinda get stuck with whatever is in the stereo at the time.
2NR: How about a dream car? Something with four doors maybe?
AH: A white BMW M5.
2NR: Would you be able to leave it stock? Or would it get the treatment?
AH: Hell no! It would have to be modified. They look good from the factory, so I'd start with engine mods. I enjoy going fast too much, and you can never have too much speed. I'd probably get a stereo system too, but speed first.
2NR: I can't blame you there.
