Import Tuner Shoe Buyer's Guide - Sole Power

Import Tuner's Style Guide To Dressing Your Feet

Text By Joel Marasigan

Back in the day Imelda Marco's-if you don't who that is, seek out your Filipino friend and ask-shoe collection was thought of as a big faux pas. Who would've thought that 20-plus years later we'd be doing the same shit? Collecting the shoes has been hot underground-cool for a while but ever since Nelly reached out and freaked his "two per" of Air Force Ones, it has moved, to some extent, into the direction of urban pop-culture.

Last year we hit you with a backpack guide-this year we knock you in the crotch with some dope kicks. The guys here at Import Tuner have mad style and an unprecedented love for shoes. We know for you commoners to keep ahead of the next guy you'll need some direction on shoe selection. So, Import Tuner says: "We show you where toilet is but we not hold dick." In other words: We'll show you the goods but for the love of God, coordinate the rest of your gear. It's will not be our fault if you mess up your steeze by looking like mommy dressed you...again.

Sole CollectorCustom Shoe designer: Mark Arcenal, Fatlace.com, San Francisco, Calif.Ever had a desire to design your own shoe? Well so did Mark at Fatlace. I don't know if he has as many shoes as I do but I'm thinking he's got more quality in his collection. Anyone wanna buy a pair of vintage 1977 hush puppies? For info and updates on dope shoes visit www.Fatlace.com.

Mark, who have you designed for?We have designed a Fatlace shoe with Savier-a skateboarding apparel company. It should be out, if not sold out, by the time this magazine comes out. We're also in the works with Nike on developing our rendition of an old-school classic.
