Is our world about more than just imports? Hell no! But, out of loyalty to our readers I feel compelled to ask, should we be looking beyond what the Asian manufacturers have to offer? Times have definitely changed. Since several domestic manufacturers decided the import or sport compact performance arena was a lucrative alley into the future and not just the flash in the pan, they have stretched their creative resources to come up with the ultimate option; most of them have created platform to compete with and appeal to the performance enthusiast of today, you, our readers. Of course, they see something make an impact in our world and basically perform a poor job of copying it, but how cute are they to try.
As you all know, 2NR's foundation has been about Japanese-oriented platforms since the very beginning. There's no chance of us ever "selling out," so to speak, and there's nothing we like more than to see a Honda or Nissan spanking Detroit iron whether it's at the track or on the street. But, the recent American-made involvement in our industry has got us contemplating whether you have any interest in these domestic offerings. I posed the same opportunity to you before and you all did me proud amongst your emails, but I feel it's a subject that shouldn't be swept under the mat forever and your input is, as always, very important to us. Should we test them up against favored imports, feature modified versions and/or the aftermarket support for them? Or hell, even just make fun of them? But seriously, our quest to provide our readers with an all-encompassing product sends our minds to other planets and the thought has casually come up on several trips.
In all honesty, we can't reach a decisive conclusion and thought maybe we should leave it up to you to decide. What would you do? What do you want to see?
