Owner: Import Tuner
Dynamometer model: Dynamic Test Systems Australia
DYNO1: Baseline
Air temp @ 75.1 Degrees Fahrenheit
Peak HP 267.5
Peak TQ 297.1
Baseline Horsepower: 267.5
Baseline Torque: 297.1
Pros
Since the A'PEXi Power FC unit was installed in our first Power Page Evo, tuning the vehicle for hp will be much easier adding these next three parts.
Cons
All the parts listed below include Power FC tuning when adding them to the vehicle.
Dyno Notes
Torque measurement is at the flywheel and not the wheels, while horsepower is rated at the engine.
DYNO 2: XS Engineering Downpipe
Air temp @ 70.4 Degrees Fahrenheit
Temperature difference from previous run -4.7 Degrees Fahrenheit
Peak HP 283.9
Peak TQ 329.9
2000 to 3500 HP Range: 5 to 8
2000 to 3500 TQ Range: 12 to 18
3500 to 5500 HP Range: 12 to 17
3500 to 5500 TQ Range: 15 to 22
5500 to redline HP Range: 8 to 12
5500 to redline TQ Range: 8 to 12
Peak Horsepower: 283.9
Peak Torque: 329.9
Pros
The downpipe is three-inches in size and removes the factory cat. To make the East Coast guys happy, XS also made the pipe stainless, and if you're a true show ho, then it even comes in polished trim.
Cons
It does remove the factory catalytic converter so smog exemption is impossible.
Parts include:
One-piece downpipe, 14mm nuts & bolts, two gaskets.
Tools required for install:
12-, 14- and 17mm socket & ratchet, extension, 14- and 17mm wrench.
Dyno Notes:
Torque measurement is at the flywheel and not the wheels while horsepower is rated at the engine. The downpipe power figures include tuning the Power FC computer. Eric had to richen it up allow to add timing since less back pressure.
Install time: 1 hour
DYNO 3: Blitz SBC-iD
Air temp @ 62.5 Degrees Fahrenheit
Temperature difference from previous run -7.9 Degrees Fahrenheit
Peak HP 290.3
Peak TQ 393.0
2000 to 3500 HP Range: 8 to 10
2000 to 3500 TQ Range: 14 to 30
3500 to 5500 HP Range: 12 to 18
3500 to 5500 TQ Range: 20 to 30
5500 to redline HP Range: 0 to 12
5500 to redline TQ Range: 22 to 30
Peak Horsepower: 290.3
Peak Torque: 393.0
Pros
Works great to build boost early and controlling over boosting is one of its better features. If you bought the optional power meter, boost can also be controlled by speed.
Cons
It has many features that can get you lost. If you run the controller in manual, the set up time may take a lot longer.
Parts include
Controller, boost solenoid, wiring, vacuum lines and connectors.
Tools required for install:
Crimpers, 10mm socket and ratchet, wire strippers
Dyno notes
Torque measurement is at the flywheel and not the wheels while horsepower is rated at the engine. The SBC-iD boost controller power figures include tuning the Power FC computer. With the boost higher this allowed us to add more fuel, but timing had to be retarded by about 2 degrees in the high rpm. Boost was raised to 20.5 psi.
Install time: 2-5 hours
DYNO 4: XS Engineering Intercooler
Air temp @ 65.5 Degrees Fahrenheit
Temperature difference from previous run 3 Degrees Fahrenheit
Peak HP 305.8
Peak TQ 363.0
2000 to 3500 HP Range: -15 to -17
2000 to 3500 TQ Range: -22 to -16
3500 to 5500 HP Range: -6 to -17
3500 to 5500 TQ Range: -14 to -18
5500 to redline HP Range: 5 to 7
5500 to redline TQ Range: -12 to -14
Peak Horsepower: 305.8
Peak Torque: 363.0
Pros
The intercooler is much larger but it does bolt to the factory location using the brackets provided in the kit.
Cons
It does require some trimming to fit it in the OEM location. The polished intercooler is optional.
Dyno Notes
Torque measurement is at the flywheel and not the wheels while horsepower is rated at the engine. The XS Engineering intercooler power figures include tuning the Power FC computer. Eric was able to throw some of the timing back into the engine since the intercooler allows a better air charge over an extended amount of time. Torque fell off hard core.
Install time: 1-1.5 hours

Conclusion
This proved once again that the Evo is a monster, but only with the correct amount of tuning. This time around we upped the boost pressure to 20 psi and fuel was increased. We found out the injectors were at their maximum, so for the next part we are going to add 720cc injectors with a 255-lph fuel pump as the first product and a set of cams and sprockets as the next.
