Dyno 3A'pexi N1 Cat-BackExhaust System155.0 hp 157.0 tq
ProsThe A'PEXi unit is a great looking piece with its robotic tig-welding on the canister and tip. Sporting an N1-style canister and tip, the system features straight through muffler design and piping with the least amount of bends for better flow. It produces a very distinct tone when driving (it sounds like a colony of angry bees ready to kick your ass).

ConsOn the dyno the A'PEXi unit did not perform as well as predicted. Our guess is the Spec V already comes equipped with an increased flow muffler compared to the SE-R. A muffler system might not be necessary on the Spec V, unless you just like the sound of an exhaust system.

Dyno 4DC Sports 4-2-1 Race Header165.0 hp 168.0 tq
ProsCan you say "performance?" This is one of the most potent headers we have tested. We saw gains of 10 peak hp and 11 lb-ft of peak torque. The Spec V now pulls viciously to redline instead of struggling. Surprisingly the header made the most power of the three add-ons, whereas it usually makes the least. It performed extremely well and shocked all of us with the numbers.

ConsThe header's drawback is that it is a race header and there are no CARB E.O. numbers. If a porker pops you, you're history.

ConclusionThe new Spec V is a worthy successor to the previous generation SE-R. When armed with simple bolt-ons the 2.5-liter engine really sings-especially when equipped with the race header from DC Sports.
