Pros
RS*R will release this exhaust for the second-gen Eclipse shortly. This exhaust has a more conservative muffler design (meaning quiet!) yet still makes decent power. Installation is seamless and fitment is exemplary. This exhaust made a healthy 9.6 hp on the dyno.
Cons
Since this was an early-release version, you might have to wait for the limited-edition shipment to arrive. But all good things come to those who wait.
Notes
Since this car wasn't modified for eight years and 93k miles, there were quite a few rusted bolts. Just remember to spray the bolts with WD-40 and you should be fine. Also, since the factory exhaust actually bolts the hangers to the exhaust, remember to use pliers to remove the metal sleeve in the hanger before attempting to mount your new exhaust. Don't forget to let the exhaust cool before you start, or you'll be looking at some burnt palms.

RS*R ExMag Downpipe202 HP 206.6 TQ
Pros
This downpipe offers much less restriction than the stock one. When teamed up with the limited-edition ExMag exhaust it helped make an additional 7.5 hp. Downpipes allow the turbo to spool up faster and yield overall better performance. Another straightforward installation, it mates up to the exhaust without any difficulty.
Cons
This downpipe bypasses the factory catalytic converter and is therefore designed for off-road use only. It also makes the engine a little louder, so don't expect to make a quiet exit from your neighborhood in the middle of the night.
Notes
Again, remember to let things cool down before you start wrenching. The catalytic converter stores heat efficiently, and it can get really hot. Spray WD-40 on your hangers and rusty bolts. Pull the sleeves out of the hangers before hanging the downpipe.
