Dyno 4: DC Sports Downpipe
225.2 HP 227.6 TQ
Pros
Turbos have to breathe. There's no better way to do that than with a larger-diameter downpipe. This one excuses the catalytic converters, giving the turbo plenty of open pipe to breathe through. And it showed on the dyno charts. We made an incredible increase of 16.7 peak hp and 28.3 lb-ft of torque.
Cons
Since it bypasses all of the catalytic converters, this pipe is for off-road use only. Also, given the location of the downpipe, be sure to let the car cool down completely or you'll have some toasty digits when you try to disconnect the stock downpipe and catalytic converters.
Temperature
Air temperature: 75.9 degrees Fahrenheit
Temperature difference from previous run: +5.1 degrees Fahrenheit
Tools
Ratchet; 10mm socket; 6-inch extension; 10-, 12 and 14mm combination wrenches; and ratchet
Parts
Stainless-steel downpipe
Installation time: 90 minutes
Notes
This is a brand-new downpipe by DC Sports. The techs got the fit and finish right on and we've got the dyno figures to back them. Don't get rid of your catalytic converters; you're gonna need them.
