Dyno 3 Hks F-Con V Pro Engine Management And Tomei 740cc Injectors
218.1 Hp 240.0 Tq

Pros
The HKS F-CON V PRO is a fuel management system that is piggybacked with the stock ECU. The HKS wiring harness makes the installation a breeze with no need to cut the factory wiring harness. To take advantage of the V PRO, we upgraded to Tomei 740cc injectors in anticipation of a larger turbo. Eddie Kim of Dynamic Autosports built our base fuel map for the existing hardware. Since the stock MAF meter can only handle a limited amount of boost, we had the choice of either changing to a larger MAF (like a Ford Cobra MAF) or switching to speed density, which eliminates the MAF. We chose speed density, which utilizes a 3.0bar MAP sensor and an intake air temperature sensor for tuning. With the injectors and tuning, we hit 218.1 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque.

Cons
Enthusiasts can't program the V PRO; only HKS Pro dealers have the tuning software and the authorization to tune it.

Notes
The stock red top SR20DET motor came with a composite head gasket instead of metal. This limits the amount of boost pressure you can apply to the engine. Since we were going for the best possible power on pump gas, we swapped out the head gasket with an all-metal replacement from Cometic. We also encountered excessive heat buildup in the catalytic converter, which was causing the fuel mixture to become too rich, so we swapped in a cat pipe for tuning. Eddie Kim built fuel and ignition maps that enabled us to max out the turbo at 14 psi of boost. The stock turbo pretty much ran out of breath at this point. The Tomei 740cc injectors are a little overkill for this turbo; however it's a good idea to have them if you know a larger turbo is around the corner.
