Owner: Jeff Li
Dynamometer Model: MD Automotive's
Dynojet 248C Dynamometer
Eddie Kim of Dynamic

Dyno 1Baseline 213.7 Hp 208.3 Tq

Pros
This segment promises to be particularly interesting because one of the most critical stages of a buildup is engine management and tuning. You'll find plenty of options and tuning shops that are qualified to safely extract the most out of your engine. Also, the SR20DET engine block is fortified to handle an incredible amount of boost pressure straight from the factory.

Cons
Power costs you time, labor hours and money. If you're not ready to invest, you won't get much power.

Notes
Testing for this installment was conducted at MD Automotive, but Eddie Kim of Dynamic Autosports tuned the car on his company's Mustang Dynamometer.

Temperature
Air temperature: 76.4 degrees Fahrenheit

Dyno 2 Tomei Turbine Outlet PipeAnd Walbro High-Flow Fuel Pump
218.6 Hp 214.3 Tq

Pros
The Tomei turbine outlet pipe is a handsomely crafted stainless-steel pipe. It fits perfectly and is noticeable larger than the stock cast-iron turbine outlet. Because the outlet pipe allowed the turbo to breathe easier, we saw the power noticeably increase from 3500 rpm through red line. Peak horsepower was up 4.9 and peak torque increased by 6 lb-ft. As added insurance for subsequent mods, we swapped the stock fuel pump for a high-flow Walbro 255lph unit.

Cons
The installation was a little tedious considering the simplicity of the parts involved. The installation is a lot easier if you first remove the heat shields. Installing the fuel pump is a snap, as Walbro includes everything you need to make a clean installation.

Notes
Remember to disconnect your battery ground as a precaution or that unexpected spark could turn you and your car into a charbroiled mess.

Temperature
Air temperature: 76 degrees Fahrenheit Temperature difference from previous run: -0.4 degree Fahrenheit
