Installation is a breeze. The xB's muffler and axle-back exhaust piping are one piece-just like DMEs-and connect to the rest of the piping via a v-band clamp with just one bolt. the DME unit features straight-through design, unlike the factory unit, and slightly larger piping for less restriction.
Cons
Not only does Scion use the two catalytic converters with the xB to meet stringent emissions requirements, it places them welded into a single section of small-diameter exhaust piping between the xB's header and axle-back section, preventing any street-legal aftermarket exhaust from increasing power by replacing the small-diameter piping or adding additional silencers to quiet the exhaust note. Despite all this, the DME unit managed to produce an additional horse or two throughout the entire powerband, and as much as 6whp top end, while keeping exhaust tones below the legal threshold.

Notes
The xB's v-band clamp connecting the two sections of exhaust piping can be a bit frustrating; position it incorrectly, and you might spring an exhaust leak. For best results, we'd suggest coating the Oe donut gasket with some copper-seal or high-temp silicone gasket maker. also, a little wD-40 sprayed on the bare exhaust hanger posts helps the rubber hangers go on a lot easier.
