Conclusion:
Comparing our average baseline output with what we achieved after modification, our three basic bolt-on mods were good for between 20-50 whp from 4,100 to 6,300 rpm, and between 25-35 lb-ft of torque between 3,100 and 5,600 rpm-perfect for the daily driver, or track racer, who needs reliable power from an engine without having to rev it sky-high. What's more, looking over the stats logged during testing, the proportionately large amount of torque our boosted 2.3L DISI engine produced compared to horsepower, and the fact that power fell so drastically after its midrange peak, makes it pretty clear that this engine has a lot more power to be unleashed through boost control. If ever there was an underdog champion, this car is it.
