Operation Tsukuba Import Tuner Gtr

Import Tuner GT-R
If thoughts of building up the all-new GT-R are the reason why you're day dreaming in traffic, hearing your girlfriend tell you how you've grown distant, or periodically unable to stand up in class, then like us, you're probably spending all your free time counting down the days until you can drive the best Japanese supercar ever made off your local Nissan dealership's lot and right into your favorite aftermarket performance shop's garage. But also like us, if the salary you take home only rises alongside federally mandated hikes in the minimum wage, it'll take you just as long to afford one. And that's a really long time. No worries; we found a way to build one for free. EA Games-the people who brought you the first sights and sounds of the all-new GT-R supercar in Need For Speed: Pro Street-in collaboration with yours truly, the 2NR staff, are bringing you the opportunity to log onto Xbox Live and buy, modify, and compete an Import Tuner Spec R35 against any who dare to challenge it. Sure, the other magazines have their own cars, too...and it'll be fun to watch them fool around with their cute little 240s, RX-7s, and EVOs while we crush them like flies with GT-R power! With a full-scale, all-out online competition series in the works, EA will be looking to crown a reigning champ in no time. Don't waste another second - fire up Pro Street, log onto Xbox Live, and begin building your own Import Tuner GT-R today. And don't forget to give your car a name; we're calling ours "Godzirra", so don't even think about using that one...

Greddy Fest
Renowned aftermarket performance parts giants GReddy recently invited enthusiasts to the Irvine, Calif., El Toro Air Force Base for one of the coolest come-as-you-are meets we've had the privilege of attending in a long time. Drifting 240s, Hatchis, Supras, and even the occasional '79 Celica scarred El Toro's retired runways at one end, while Miata, EVO, and STI-laden cone killing sessions ensued at the opposite. In between, enthusiasts of virtually every platform, sport compact or micro, showed off their latest efforts, while GReddy company reps handed off thousands of dollars in raffle prizes and provided complimentary tuning services to loyal GReddy customers. Team Falken came out in full force to promote the upcoming Formula D season. Most surprising was the turnout; with very little hype, GReddy was able to pull in such a large crowd that gates had to be closed two hours ahead of schedule-shutting down a friggin' air force base! If you missed out, don't sweat it-future GReddy events are in the works as you read this. Just make sure to stay in the loop!
