Hot Shots Tennis

With the release and huge success of the Wii, "casual" gaming is on the rise as more game companies strive to offer games that appeal to both the "pick up and play" audience along with more traditional gamers. One of the best franchises for the PS2 to accomplish just that has been the Hot Shots Golf series with its zany little characters and over-the-top courses from around the world. Developers have taken a break from the fairways and putting greens, and turned to the tennis courts for their latest title, Hot Shots Tennis. The same kooky kind of characters and fun animation style keeps Hot Shots Tennis from taking itself too seriously, even while offering up a good mix of easy play and challenging action.

Start off by choosing from one of 14 playable characters, each one with it's own distinct personality, and more importantly, a unique set of tennis skills. Similar to being able to choose a caddy in Hot Shots Golf, gamers also pick from one of five chair umpires to judge their matches. To round out the game, there are 11 court settings that have gamers testing their skills in exciting locations like ancient ruins, beaches and parks, and on different surfaces like clay and grass courts. Whether it's a single player or a multiplayer game, Hot Shots Tennis offers a decent variety of game modes to give all levels of players something to choose from. Like Hot Shots Golf, Hot Shots Tennis takes on a whole new level of fun when playing against friends, making it a fun party game where anyone can pick up a controller and join the action.
