Stanton DJLab.2
Every time I go to a strip club I spend an hour trying to figure out which girls I'm going to spend my money on. The same is true when it comes to buying DJ equipment, you've only got a couple bucks, there are too many choices and you're not sure if Mercedes or Lexus is a better match to Candi. The good people at Stanton must also spend their lunch breaks at strip clubs and have similar issues because they offer everything you need in one big box.
IRiver U10
As much as we all love Mike Tyson, his early fights were less than interesting because he'd drop his opponent in the first couple seconds. The battle for share of the MP3 player market has been similar. The new iRiver U10 has earned the right to wear the "iPod killer" title this fall and is poised to go up against the heavyweight. With the ability to view images and videos as well as listen to audio files, there is finally a serious contender stepping into the ring.
Pioneer CDJ1000MK2
Star Wars is a perfect example of why it is hard to improve on a classic. Thank God George Lucus doesn't work at Pioneer or the CDJ-1000MK2 would have been about as dope as Jar-Jar Binks. Instead, we get new features like Hot Cue, which allows you to skip directly to any three points on the CD with the hit of a button. Now that's Boba Fett!
Oakley Thump 2
Oakley read my mind! The first version of the Thump was cool, but really not the type of sunglasses I'd wear to the mountains because they looked like something jocks or cops would wear. The new Thump 2 has a classic look and 1GB of storage, so you can load them up for a day of boarding without looking like a skier.
Palm Z22
Most PDA's are so complex that they are a nuisance and generally too frustrating to use. The new Palm Z22 is a chopped version of other models that is for people that just really need to keep organized and maybe view some photos. Not to cheat the end-user, they've scrapped features but added some clean design to the case. At around $100, it is a better investment than the bag of weed you were going to buy.
JVC Alneo XA-HD500
JVC's new audio player supports MP3 and WMA files, and is compatible with Windows Media Player 10. Equipped with an ample 6GB hard drive and up to 30-hours of continuous playback, docking station and remote control, the Alneo is a promising new addition to the personal audio player mix.
AIBO Champagne
I live in a dodgy area and nobody seems to own a dog that can't rip the jugular out of a person on command. But if I did live in a spot where home security wasn't an issue, the AIBO would be my pet of choice. With the help of the new Mind 3 software, the AIBO can now blog it's own photos, read website content aloud, remember locations, interact with verbal dialogue and can be accessed remotely over the internet. The champagne color is new for this season.
Sony M2 Digital Camera
Sony's history of digital cameras is punctuated by the success of the DSM-M1 and the new version has been long awaited. Finally, the specs have been released and the DSC-M2 features 5.1-megapixel resolution and will record MPEG4 video, all with a slick swivel LCD screen and Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens.
Apple iPod w/Video
As if the iPod wasn't already the hottest MP3 player out there, they go and improve it. Now complete with the ability to play videos, watch television shows (a couple that is, but Lost is a pretty good show) and even Pixar short animations, how the hell can you go wrong?
